Leigh Remembered

It has been two years since Leigh Mark Lodge was represented at the town's Cenotaph because of Covid19. While driving to Leigh I wondered if it would be a quiet occasion this year because of covid.

Afterall restaurants, pubs, cinemas and even our Masonic meetings have been experiencing lower numbers. To my suprise, arriving at my usual car park, I found it full and had to park elsewhere.

On entering Ullswater Street where the procession starts, Leigh Silver Band were assembling in front of vast crowds of people.
Behind the band the various organisations were preparing for the march to the Cenotaph. Along with the British Legion and Servicemen it was nice to see so many young people taking part, Scouts, Guides and Cadet detachments.

Legh Mark was represented by Bill Robb, Gordon Glover,  Keith Gear and myself.
